I've always been drawn to details. They don't have to be beautiful to interest me. If I notice a small detail that's unusual, unexpected, or simply intriguing, I stop in my tracks to take a closer look. Whether it's an old barn, a winding road, or the expression on an animal's face, I find myself noticing the things that others often walk past.
For many years, photography was my creative outlet. It gave me an excuse to explore, slow down, and preserve those moments. As life changed and photography became more difficult to pursue, I discovered that drawing fulfilled that same creative need in a different way—one that allowed me to spend even more time studying the subjects that inspired me.
While my photography often focused on landscapes, architecture, and everyday objects, my artwork has found its home in wildlife and cherished pets. Working in graphite, colored pencil, and pastel, I strive to capture not only an animal's physical likeness but also its personality and spirit. Every piece is built layer by layer through careful observation, allowing each work to develop naturally.
If my art doesn't make you stop in your tracks to take a closer look, then I haven't done my job. But my job isn't to tell you what to feel—it's to create the opportunity for you to discover what you feel. We all experience the world through the lens of our own memories, emotions, and life experiences, and those shape the way we connect with art. My hope is that my work invites you to pause, look closer, and discover a connection that is uniquely your own.
